Lightning and Love for Tom Brady

What’s with the Tampa Bay Lightning  and how they treat visiting fans?

Fanaticus Dramaticus already detailed how the Lightning  only sell playoff tickets to fans with a Florida zip code in order to preserve “a hometown environment.”

Now for the Stanley Cup, they have enacted an apparel ban. Really.  In certain sections of Amalie Arena, fans are prohibited from wearing Blackhawk gear, again in the name of that “hometown environment.”

Makes me want to root for Chicago. In another unconditional show of fan support, Patriots fans are stepping up big time for their beleaguered QB. Fans of the New England superstar QB don’t believe for a second he’s a guilty party in the Deflategate scandal are showing their unwavering support in life, death and drinks.

One bar in Massachusetts is hawking “Free Tom Brady” beer.

Newlyweds Paul and Kellie Goodrow say they have postponed their honeymoon until Brady’s suspension is lifted.  They  put off a once-in-a-lifetime trip to Bermuda in a show of solidarity with the signal caller.

The predicament even made it into a fan’s obituary. Patricia Shong of Auburn, Massachusetts passed away at the age of 72 but presumably in both life and in death was a huge Brady fan.  One of the final lines of the tribute reads,  “She would like us to set the record straight for her: Brady is innocent!!”

Brady’s appeal  of his four game suspension is set for June 23rd.  I’d hate to see  how fans respond if that appeal goes nowhere.
